2018-11-08
The U.S. Department of Commerce is expected to finally impose an anti-dumping and countervailing duty of 96.3% - 176.2% on China's ordinary aluminium alloy sheets.
This decision marks the final decision of the United States to impose tariffs in the first bilateral anti-dumping investigation initiated by the government since 1985. The Trump government has promised to promote trade enforcement more actively by letting the Ministry of Commerce initiate more double-counter investigations on behalf of the private sector.
However, the source said that the final anti-dumping and countervailing duty rates for aluminium alloy sheets were lower than the initial duty rates in April and July. It was 198.4%-280.46%.
The U.S. decision on tariffs imposed on China's ordinary aluminium alloy sheets will depend on the final injury ruling of the U.S. Department of International Trade (ITC) scheduled for December 20.
