6082 Aluminum

6082 belongs to 6 ××× series (Al-Mg-Si) aluminum alloy, is able to heat treatment of aluminum alloy sheet strengthened, with moderate strength and good weld ability, corrosion resistance, mainly for transport and structural engineering industry. Such as bridges, cranes, roof trusses, transport aircraft, ships and other transportation. In recent years, with the rapid development of domestic and foreign shipbuilding, reduce hull weight, increase speed of the ship, seeking to replace the aluminum alloy steel parts, has become an important issue facing the aluminum industry and shipbuilding. 6082 aluminum alloy aluminum with moderate strength and good corrosion resistance, and light weight, is an ideal material for manufacturing high-speed boat parts.

Heat Treatment 

1. Smelting:

6082 alloy is characterized by containing Mn. Mn is the refractory metal, the melting temperature should be controlled at 740-760 ℃. Stir twice more before sampling to ensure that the metal is completely melted; the temperature is accurate, uniform composition. After stirring the molten aluminum in the middle of the depth of the left and right sides of the furnace depicting a sample for analysis, the converter can be folded after passing minute.

 

2. Purification and casting:

After the melt into the holding furnace, with nitrogen and refining agent dusting, jet refining, refining temperature 735-745 ℃, time 15 minutes, allowed to stand for 30 minutes after refining. Through this process, in addition to gas, slag, clean melts. When cast in the mold between the mouth to prescribe filters, furnace mouth ceramic foam filter plate (30PPI) filter, before casting a 14-mesh glass fiber cloth filter, fully filtered melt oxide slag. 6082 aluminum alloy casting high temperature (higher than 6063 aluminum normal process), the casting speed is low, the water flow is too large, the above process should be strictly controlled, not out of range, otherwise easily lead to casting failure.
